Do you decorate your home for the 4th of July? I usually don’t, but I did this year and really enjoy the reminder of our country’s freedom – all around the house. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money or get too crazy, but the thing about using a few simple pieces and finding things around your home is that it can make a big impact. Several years ago, I purchased a huge canvas American flag from a vintage shop. It was old, but in beautiful condition and the size was grand. This was the only flag I owned – I haven’t ever really decorated for this holiday before. So, this year I decorated four spaces around our home, and I love how the simple decorating ideas for the 4th of July help our family to remember and celebrate America’s birthday.

I went to Target and found some canvas buntings, 3×5′ flags, and a package of mini flags. Besides my Target finds, I bought some red, white, and blue flowers and then shopped my home for more red, white, and blue decor. I also grabbed some red, white, and blue candy to create a little charcuterie tray for the girls (ok, for me too). The cute red tray was from the Dollar Store and I like how the sweet treats added to the festivities. I don’t have a lot of red decor, but I did have a red vintage table cloth and some red books, however, using mainly blue and white is equally festive and fun. Or maybe use mostly red and white, whatever color combo you use will be fun and make a statement to help commemorate our upcoming holiday.

Here are links to my Target finds, but Amazon and Walmart also have festive items to decorate with as well.
