Linen closet organization inspiration

Linen closet organization inspiration

I don’t know about you, but for me the linen closet is easily the least important place to be organized and one of the places I used to dread even looking at. While these closets may be made for linens, they’re also a pretty great place to store ‘other’ things and just sort of forget about it. But once my linen closets were tidied up and cleaned out, there was this huge weight lifted that I didn’t even realize was there.

Bedroom linen closet – bedding, sleeping bags, and extra pillows.

I think the closets were always on the to-do list in the back of my mind, but they weren’t a priority. But I tend to get a little irritable when I can’t check off those to-do boxes (even mentally).

Organizing the linen closet is so easy with these 3 simple steps!

  1. Remove everything – grouping like-items as you go. Create a donate pile for items you don’t need. Dust and wipe down shelves.
  2. With your like-items gathered, you can determine how much space you’ll need when returning items back to the shelves. Start with the top shelf (items you don’t use often or are light weight).
  3. Use baskets and these bins to collect and store items. I used bins to collect duvet covers, pillowcases, and tablecloths. Adding labels to the bins looks cute and helps other family members put things away.

This linen closet is used for everyone’s bedding.

Once you begin, it won’t take long to finish and with items organized (and maybe even labeled), it shouldn’t be difficult to keep the closet tidy.

This closet is next to the family room. It’s a great place to store
throw blankets, throw pillows, board games, and DVDs.

Before life gets busy with kids back to school and the hustle and bustle of upcoming holidays, I know you can get those closets done – it’s so worth it once it’s done. Check out our bedroom closet clean-out for more inspiration.
