DIY Photo Christmas Countdown

DIY Photo Christmas Countdown

After spending every Christmas of our lives in Oregon, 2020 marks our first Christmas spent in our new home state, Arkansas. We moved to northwest Arkansas in May 2020 and have enjoyed every last bit of it. Yet, even though the community is friendly and welcoming, there’s something pretty special about having family near during the big holidays. We will miss seeing all of our family, enjoying the humor and laughter, and making fun memories – it won’t be the same without them. So, I was thinking of a way to help stay connected this season and I love the idea of a Christmas countdown or Advent calendar. But with both of our moms on the keto diet (doing awesome by the way), sweet treats aren’t going to cut it for this countdown. For this Christmas countdown idea, I’m using business cards by moo.com. They’re two-sided so that one side will have a festive image, and each day they’ll flip a card to reveal a family photo. Our mom’s love photos of their family so it’s the perfect way to stay connected each day up to Christmas without the calories~

I have designed five different holiday images that can be uploaded into moo.com as the front side of your cards. Then you can upload the photos you want on the backsides. I ordered 50 cards, and uploaded 25 photos – so each grandma will get a set of 25 photos, the perfect amount for a Christmas countdown. I really think this concept is fun for any family member, kids at college, or if you have loved ones who have passed away and you want to make them a part of your holiday. Moo.com also makes mini cards, and I think they would have been a better fit, but the photos would have been half the size. You can determine what size works best for you.

If you love the photo Christmas countdown idea, but don’t want to create your own photo clip board, you can also insert mini moo.com business cards in this Opalhouse banner from Target.com. This is a great option to send to grandparents that don’t live near you. There are so many fun Christmas Countdowns or Advent Calendars that you can incorporate family photos with. I hope this idea inspires you with some fun ideas this holiday season. If you try one with moo.com business cards, please post it on Instagram and tag me (@804_sycamore), I’d love to see your own version of a DIY photo Christmas countdown! And if you love the idea of a non-candy advent calendar, check out these awesome ones!
