Every once in a while, our family makes the two-hour drive to Branson Missouri. Branson is full of fun things to do for families, but I mostly look forward to going to 417 Vintage Market & Supply Co. At my last visit, we were short on time, but I was able to snag a beautiful round basket for $17! I wasn’t sure exactly where I’d put it or how I’d use it, and that was when I realized all the different ways this basket could work. I could have come up with possibly a dozen more ways, but I stopped at 8 ways to decorate a basket tray.

One of the key things I want to point out is that each basket tray design has functional items, decorative elements, or both. I like to create homes for things around the house – it helps everyone know where to find the remote, for instance – and baskets are great for storing things. However, they’re also so great for displaying things. This basket has such a unique shape that I think it can also hold its own without containing a thing. I guess you could say my biggest problem is deciding where it gets to live and how long before I move it again.

8 Ways to Decorate a Basket Tray

There’s one thing that every basket design has in common… did you spot it? Each design has a plant (real or faux) and that’s intentional. Plants add life, texture, sometimes height, and they can really dress things up. Even if the plant doesn’t make it inside the basket, having one close by adds to the ensemble and really elevates the look. Try to picture any of these designs without a plant – it’s just not the same.
